Frequently Asked Questions

Due to COVID-19, the American Mathematics Competitions series hosted by the Mathematical Association of America was moved online, to the Art of Problem Solving website. This is an online platform intended to simulate the real online contest environment that was used for the actual test as closely as possible.
Simply choose which test you would like to mock using the dropdown menu and typing the year into the first input box. Then, choose how long of a test you would like to take by typing the hours into the second box and the minutes into the third box (real AMCs are 1 hour and 15 minutes). Click "Generate Test" and the test should automatically start.

After solving a problem, for an AMC, choose your answer by clicking on the respective answer choice on the left of your screen. If you would like to change your answer, simply click on a different answer choice, and if you would like to clear your answer, click on the choice that is currently selected. For an AIME, enter your answer in the box on the left. Leading zeroes are not required.
The problems are all from past AMCs and AIMEs, so all credits for the problems goes to MAA. Problem retrieval is from the AoPS Wiki. See the credits dropdown for more information.
I hope to add support for more tests in the future (even possibly some other user-created contests!). I also hope to add authentication features to the platform, so that your scores can save and you can view your progress. I'm also constantly thinking of new ideas, so this is definitely not an exhaustive list.
I would like to thank the following platforms for making this possible:
  • vqbc's Trivial AoPS Wiki Reader for general inspiration and being a reference point when I got stuck. It's an amazing platform, and I highly recommend you check it out :)
  • The MediaWiki API for the AoPS Wiki, which is how I retrieved all of the past problems
  • MAA for all of the problems.
